Feb. 3, 2012 – Is today over yet?
I thought this day would never end. It seemed non-stop: right after breakfast, driving Elisa to her lab appointment, then packing for Florida, making lunch part 1, going to see the doctor about my own eye infection, picking up Elisa at the lab, dropping off a prescription at the pharmacy, taking Elisa to get the U-Haul van for her move, making lunch part 2, picking up the prescription, recharging with coffee, driving to Elisa’s apartment in DC, hauling half a dozen large plastic trash bags full of her unwanted clothing (how could she possibly own so much clothing?) down the steps and out to the car so I can donate it to Goodwill, bringing down shopping bags full of papers for me to recycle or shred, carrying out lamps, a television, and various household items that she’s bequeathing to us, driving home in rush hour traffic, and finally, making dinner. Just thinking about these last couple of days makes me feel exhausted.
